I'm fortunate enough to be able to hunt the great state of Texas for free range Axis Deer, Sitka & Fallow (if I see them) and Aoudad. I'm leaving with a friend on the 30th, I'll be packing up today and making sure the bow and rifle are sighted in and ready to go! I'm excited as ever and I'll be in the Rocksprings, Texas area. I figured I'd make a Journal as well as one for my Idaho Bow Elk hunt which will be Labor Day weekend in September.

I'll update this as much as I can!
 
Sounds like you have some greats hunts planned for this fall. Good luck in your adventures.
 
Packed up and on our way, almost in Nebraska as I'm writing this. I'm glad I'm not the one driving! I've got a buddy for that :)
 
I'm in Texas, looks like Armadillo stew will be in order and on the menu for tonight. I'll post pictures after our morning sit.
 
Good luck TH!! My wife and daughter are visiting friends near Dallas this week and texted me a weather reading of 102 today :eek: Hope you don't have to hunt in that kind of stuff…

It was HOT, I'll update everyone on everything I was able to get while I was there. It's going to be a LONG post but it'll be a while until I have decent service.
 
Guess I was wrong. I was betting you were the guy in texas who shot an armadillo and the bullet ricochet off and hit him in the head this weekend. It was ironic you were there cuz that seems to be how your hunts go haha.
 
I've tried to upload my post 6 times now and it won't work. I'll try uploading one picture at a time and seeing if that works.

If you happen to come to the state fair my Photo Essay won and I have a road-runner that was 2nd for animal/wildlife.
 
So how did your hunt end up? Been thinking about going on a similar hunt down there and curious how it was. Did you see much Axis or Fallow?
