Every farm I’ve been on in iowa has deer like this. Everyone I’ve seen. Whether folks lay off the trigger or not determines how good the farms end up being. Really nice to see nice ones like this heavier one with extra stuff that’s young (Know exactly how old he is) Hope he stays safe

I guess he’s maybe not a qualifier for this post. He’s 3 or 4. I know him from last year. He might be 4. He’s nice buck but if he is able to get mature - he sure could be a whopper. Good eyes & catch on that one
Agree. I love watching them grow. Shooting them is bittersweet when u watch a buck go from young to old & connect. clearly many more that do not end with connecting.
I PERSONALLY have more enjoyment from hunting watching the deer for years to hunt them many seasons down the road. A new mystery deer is awesome & great but, to me, more rewarding when have long history. when I started- no such thing as “history with a buck”. I guess both are rewarding & fun: “never know what shows up, a surprise!” & “many years of history with a deer”. Been on both sides & both are cool. As years roll by, goals & what is “fun & enjoyable” changes a bit. No right or wrong answer ….. in any situation - being able to chase these rascals, maybe watch them through out the years & hop in a stand to escape some of the madness in society sure is rewarding.
Many on here will be watching some great up & comers walk by that will be making some big memories in the future seasons. That’s pretty cool watching those bucks & hoping your paths cross again in years ahead…..

Heres one on the no shoot list i couldn't decide last yr if 2 or 3 but he's back and i feel only 3 ! Cant wait till next yr hope he makes it thru!! Lived all yr last yr on my farm hopefully he does again!!

Far left is the classic 2 year old for us, here.. I always love the clean wide "king rack" typicals. If he ever makes it to 4 or 5, oh man..
