Texas pigs

Was on my annual spring Texas pig hunt last week with my brother, son, nephew and two other friends. My brother and me left for the lease on Wednesday and by sundown I dumped an oinker with a bow. First with a bow BTW. Not very big but hey, a pig is a pig. I shot one more and as a group we had seven pigs, one dog and one bobcat. Lots of fun and memories.

An update on my brother. Last fall he was diagnosed with stage 4 pancriatic cancer. He has been through six month's of chemo and that dose has become ineffective. Now he is on plan B, a second and new chemo. There is no plan C. His best hope is this new chemo kills the cancer. Even though it is a terrible deblitating cancer he has remained positive and still talks of future plans despite the overwhelming odds against him. Last Sunday we said our goodbyes after a week and that was difficult for both of us so we both know he has a steep hill to climb. So once again I ask all my friends here to once a week or so say a quick prayer for Todd.

Prayers sent!

Sure looks fun, how do they taste on the grill? I would like to do that someday.

I can relate to the uphill climb feeling. My prayers are definitely with your brother and you.

That right there is the best grilling-sized pig! Congrats!

And, Harwood11, they are great on the grill when they are smaller. Bigger ones I've always had made into breakfast and Italian sausage. Good eats!

Looks like a blast Perry. Glad to hear that your brother is still fighting the battle and remaining positive. Prayers are with you and your brother.

Prayers to your brother. I hope he pulls through and you guys are able to spend many more years together chasing critters.

That pig would look a lot better with a bulldog hanging off it's ear!

By the sounds of things you guys had a great time. Sorry to hear about your brother. He sounds he has been through a lot. Sure hope plan B works, Prayers are sent!

Sounds like a great family time, many fine memories were made. I too will pray for your brother.

Perry,
Great hunt and still building memories. A guy can only pray and look forward to the next memory. Prayers sent and enjoy the oinker!

Perry glad to see you were able to share another hunt and looks like a great time was had! Thoughts and prayers for your brother.
