A Few Steps Ahead Of You
Well again i dont want this to get too lengthy, so ill do my best to give the short rendition......
This morning, Jon (jdg83) and i split up. he hunted one side of the farm and i hunted the other in hopes of covering more ground.
i set up Pretty Boy/Girl and a few other hens......there was lots of gobbling on the roost. the first bird down showed up about 300 yards out by himself......gobbling and strutting..... since he was alone i figured he was a killable bird.....
so i called subtlely (sp) to get his attention.
side note...
i attached some fishing line to Pretty Boy's head and ran it back to the blind so i could add some movement....
at over 300 yards he saw PB and came in like he was attached to that fishing line....
i put him down @ 30 yards before the sun was up....
textbook hunt......
25 lbs.
1 spurs
10" beard.....
Jon didnt get a bird yet, hopefully ill be adding pix and a story tomorrow morning as we have lots of birds located...so hopefully we can give one more a dirt nap....
