The Hunt Never Ends....
Hey everyone,
I have been doing some research this week for one of my classes here at I.S.U. on Hunters and Anti-hunters. I checked out a few books from the library and found some of the stuff I read quite interesting. One of the books I read was wrote by Forrest Wood. The book was published in 1997. It is titled The Delights and Dilemmas of Hunting. Here is what Wood wrote, as shown in the book, about the average hunter and the average anti-hunter.
The Average Anti-Hunter:
Characteristics of an anti-hunter mostly female, live in urban areas, less experience raising animals, not much involvement with animals besides owning pets, and among the LOWEST KNOWLEDGE of animals of any group.
The Average Hunter:
The average hunter is a white male, 42 years of age, lives in a small town or rural area in the middle of the United State (more than on either coast), has at least some college education, has a professional/managerial or services/labor job, and earns $43,120 per year. He hunts 7-10 days per year, primarily in his own state on land within 50 miles of his home.
Just something that I thought was interesting to share with all of you.....
