The Call To Arms Thread...Answered

I too have been burning up the key board. I emailed and asked my rep to call me back and he did. I expect after this legislative session both the house and the senate will fulling understand mickey and FOI. I hope they don't spend to much of their hard earned money before they go away. Thanks for visiting though.

Sent my emails and received this response from my congressional representative today. Hopefully others will follow his lead.

Todd

I understand your concerns and will be talking to the chair of Natural Resources as to why first of all that group is there and second of all to see if he is receptive to removing them.

Overall I believe it is a good piece of legislation and considering the rest of the makeup of the board I believe they can still function in a manner that will help Iowa and all hunters.

Again I will do what I can to get this group off the commission.

And as always please feel free to contact me should you have any other concerns.

Tom

I got a reply as well.

Dear Josh,

I understand your concerns at inviting nonresident landowners to sit at the table and vote as these hard decisions are made. At the same time we cannot ignore the ownership of property or property rights in the state.

I would like to suggest possible compromise. Would it be reasonable to bring the nonresident landowners in as “ex officio” members…no voting rights, but still get to be heard. It is possible that agreement with the majority can be reached. I do not support people taking advantage of Iowans’ good will and fair play.

Thanks so much for contacting me on this issue.

Best,

Linda

I got the same "cookie cutter" response, but what did I expect when I sent a copy/paste email?

I replied back with a more personal email so I'll see what I get in return.
