When I first started bow hunting I shot a deer the first night out in the first 5 minutes on the first day of opening season. I told all the "seasoned hunters" this isnt so hard actually it was easy.
That was untill the year after, the first day I missed a nice buck.
The year after that I passed the nicest buck I would end up seeing all season on the first.
The year after that I shot a nice buck only to have it slip into a corn field that wasnt picked and I didnt find it untill the coyotes and about 5 days of heat had gotten it first.
Now after all that you would think I would learn to not hunt the first or if I did that nothing else could go wrong............well lastnight I sat over a nice food plot in the middle of a big patch of oaks. I had 7 bucks come in 3 of which i would have shot. The three big ones all happend to come in at the same time I waited and calmly stopped the biggest one right in my shooting lane at 20 yards....I shot and wouldnt you know it the one branch that you always question if you should trim or not nicked my arrow and sent it off line to miss the buck and the only deer that stuck around was a little spike just laughing at me, I was half tempted to let him have it.
Just wanted share with you my curse and wondered if anybody else has an "unlucky day"
