The Grind is over

Been a long 2 seasons. Long story short I popped into some public yesterday and had a great hunt. Today I popped back, and using a mobile set up was able to shift 70 yards for the opposite wind. The drizzly rain really sucked, but whatever, that's why we do it. I saw a few doe and rattled in 2 disks at 1000. I decided to do a high noon show down so at 1155 I got up, stretched a good stretch, took a leap, and then banged em good.

It happened so fast it was over before i knew it. He came charging from around a blow down and by the time I turned back was at 15 yards. Kill mode activated. He was down in seconds and all I could do was sit down and quiver. When I walked up I had to laugh, never noticed that big dog pecker club he has for a left side. Not sure on age, but he's OLD, and I am absolutely psyched.

Was quite a ways back in public ground so a buddy showed up and we skinned him down "western style", have always wanted to do that. Such a fun year, but this was still a helluva grind.

That is a great buck...I am not sure I have ever seen an antler like that. What do you think happened to it? Congrats!!

Congrats Muddy, not only for a cool old buck but for grinding it out to the end and dedicating your time for kids' success first!!
