Just heard on the radio that the hawkeyes just picked up Tom Brands for there wrestling program. Looks like they will be a dominating force once again. The Brands boys are from a town about 12 miles north of me. Talk about a couple tough son of a guns.

I wrestled Terry at Ft Madison Freestyle Tourney prior to him going to Iowa.....I took a beating. Both kids are tough, should make for an interesting season coming up.
 
Glad to here that. I am from Sheldon and they were Freshman when I was a senior. I thought they were still coaching at Virgina Tech and Tennesee Chatanooga. Glad to here it Iowa needs a shot in the arm to boost back up. I tried to get Tom to come and turkey hunt with me which he loves to do but he is just to busy I guess. Maybe he could work with my freshman son and give him some pointers.
 
Is he going to be the head or assistant coach??? Either way, I think it's a step in the right direction.
 
He will be the next Dan Gable. Tom and Terry were a couple of animals. If you check out there accomplishment it is pretty impressive.
 
Brands is a great hire!!! It would also be awsome if we could get Macaravy back on the bench. Talk about a couple of Bad A$*>s!

Boys, sorry to burst your bubble, but Iowa State has just recently hired Cael Sanderson as their head wrestling coach! Talk about tough, or better yet....the best EVER! Iowa State also had the best recruiting class in the country last year, so look forward to them kicking some Hawk A$$ this year!

Oh yeah....Tj Sebolt is coming to Iowa State next year (going to redshirt) and Mark Kist is also. Just a couple of the new receruits for this year!
 
I'd like to see them bring back some others like Eric Juergens for roles as assistants, strength, etc. Wrestling is about emotions and fire.
 
He is brining most of the recruits with him and there are a couple more surprises that are in store...

Sureshot... my best to Cael and co. he is a class individual but I can tell you what Brands has the he doesn't and that is the ability to make you want to run over your mother and feel good about it because you are one step closer to domination.

Things are looking up for Iowa Wrestling again.
 
I guess when Tom and Terry were younger there wasn't a piece of furniture in their basement that wasn't broken. Imagine raising those two animals.

I wrestled at the Terry Brands wrestling camp in high school and it was intense. I'm glad to see that Iowa is going to back on top again. (knock on wood
 
Hey just to see if anyone else read this or not but Gable is seriously considering coming back to Iowa as an assistant coah under Brands. Now we are talking!!!!!!
