Finally was able to capitalize on an opportunity this morning. We've had close calls on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday morning. Wednesday morning we did not make it to the woods because of some..ahh..other "commitments".
Had an awesome set-up, knew exactly were they were roosting. Overall we called in six different hens and two jakes. Saw it all too..this tom actually breed a hen right before I poked an arrow through him. He actually was in a street fight about an hour early with another tom that was in the area! Sure was fun watching them brawl!
Knew we had to call in the hens in order to bring him in, we did exactly that!
10" beard, 1" spurs, and 24.1 pounds!
Here is a screen grab...
It was about a 12 yard poke with the Hoyt!
And special S/O to Dave Smith Decoys for being awesome!
