The old truck mecca holyland!!

This area is full of nice old trucks out here. Amazing what NO SALT on a road will do for a trucks' body.

Here is a 1970 Ford 3/4 ton Hi-boy 4X4 I took pics of today while on my way back into town. $3,000 or best offer!! Probably worth $4500-$5000 in IA. I am half tempted to to buy a car hauler and a semi and haul these trucks to the twin cities in MN where guys would drool over them. The only thing holding me back is a pocketful of money and an understanding wife

Here is a 1972 3/4 ton Chevy 4X4 that I found yesterday in town for $2800 obo. I really like it and have always wanted a one of these. Looks like a fairly easy restore.

On the ford, looks like the paint is so new on the tool box in the box, it has run onto the bed of the truck

Nice looking trucks though.

I think the tool box is oxodized and the old paint is washing down the side from the rain. The sun shines 300 plus days a year here and sun damage is the main thing I notice on vehicles here.
Yea, I see lots of nice old trucks driving around town. Old jeeps, landrovers, land cruisers, chevys, fords; tons of nice old 4 wheelers that have lasted due to no salt. We get TONS of snow out here but they plow instead of spewing white icemelters and salt all over the roads. I wish IA's DOT was as good at preserving vehicles as the IA DNR is at raising big whitetails.

P.S. The no humidity in the air here is a HUGE factor in a vehicles life too I am sure.

Steamboat Springs,CO Routt County. I know what you mean. My wife is always talking about how pretty the mountains are here and I am am always talking about the cool old trucks here.
