The One That Got Away

I have been hunting all week and been really close, like less than twenty yards. I set up the first morning (Monday) in the middle of 8 to ten gobblers. I had two come in within twenty yards just too much brush.

I sat till about 9 since I had to meet up with dad to head to the river to check out another spot.

Tuesday, I took a friend from work to the river to show him how I turkey hunt. This is his first year hunting so I figured I would show him how I hunt. I needed to get to a spot I knew where the toms like to strut right after they fly down. Well with all the snow and rain we have so much water we couldn't get past a small area of water. So we set up only fifty yards from where I wanted to set up. Well if we would have gotten our feet wet again we could have filled a tag. The toms did exactly what I figured they would do.

Wednesday I started late but got on a bird right away. However he was with some hens and I couldn't pull him away.

Today I set up again in the same spot as Monday just out in the field instead of the timber. The tom came out but showed no interest in my b-mobile. I think this area there is too many toms and they don't care about another tom or it is too early. Not sure but it was nice to get out.

Love those in hunt photos, I am so wrapped up in video that I forget how photos capture the memories about as well if not better. Keep after em. Looks like a great set up. :way:
