I had a terrible day and would like any of your guys suggestions. My property is 2+ hours from my so I'm not there to keep tabs on it. The clan to the east of me does drives and as in years past they put 1-3 guys on my east fenceline overlooking a field. I heard numerous gun shots from the east around 8 a.m. Saturday as I watched the one guy on my fenceline appx 100 yds to the NE of me shooting directly on my property at a little fork running right at me(so a good 100 yards into my field) He unloaded 5 shots, his buddy(also on the fenceline) took 5 shots but he was just over the crest of the hill north of him so i didn't seem him shoot. the deer stood 30 yds to my east on the edge of the timber and rolled over. gut shot twice. They immediately were on the property looking for blood trail where they started shooting and came right over to the deer and I got down from my stand to "meet" them. I'm ticked off for safety and my hunt was ruined and they blew apart a fork(and others I'm sure I didn't see). They weren't the sharpest knives in the drawer and they didn't see much wrong with shooting over a fence. The neighbor that they hunt with(who is my permanent neighbor) wasn't on the hunt. I told them what they did was wrong, they offered the deer to me but I didn't want it, and they weren't outwardly hostile but the neighbor has been. They have a deer stand 3 ft off my fenceline in a timbered section as well. Any ideas what I can do? I didn't get heated with the two locals as they carried shotguns as I stood with my muzzleloader and if I report them I'm sure my cabin will get air condtioned by one of them. Any words of wisdom? Should I contact a CO about my dilemma? I know I'll have a video camera with me next year because this fenceline hunting seems to be OK with them(they hunted the land I own before I bought it 4 years ago). Sorry for the long post, but am a bit stirred up over my weekend. I ended up shooting a doe I found bedded down with a gut wound that I am sure came from their drive.
