Thuja "green giant" conifer for screen

Has anyone looked at putting in rapid growing Thuja Green Giant evergreens for poacher screens or windbreaks? They aren't overly expensive for 18" trees in pots (<$2-4 online) and grow 3-5 feet a year with a max height of 60 feet and a base of 12-20 feet. The USNA/USDA says it tolerates wide ranges of soils, is disease resistant and deer / hare resistant.

Be careful about the DNR saying a tree is deer resistant. The IDNR actually told me that was the case with Jack Pine. I believed them, because up in MI, deer never would bother them, even small ones. WRONG!!! Iowa deer love em! Wasted money and sweat planting a hundred of them. From now on I stick with Cedar. They grow fast, and tolerate nibbling, which deer do a little of,, but not bad.

I have experimented with Thuja Green Giant's and like them. I never had a deer, rabbit or anything else touch them. I would plant them about 5'-6' apart if you decide to use them.
