Ticks

It looks like this poor old doe is loaded with ticks on her right ear, right shoulder, and left shoulder. It almost makes me not want to eat any deer meat come this fall after seeing all those ticks. Are deer immune to lyme disease and other tick related diseases?

If you can see the ticks in a trailcam pic, they are most likely wood ticks. Though wood ticks do transmit disease, deer ticks are the most common vector of Lyme disease. Deer ticks are much smaller.
