To those still hunting....

make sure what you're shooting is a doe and not a shed buck.
I've been grinding out the urban hunt trying to fill my last 2 antlerless tags the past few weeks. Friday & Saturday made for good hunts. Saw lots of deer including a monster buck I'll probably never see the likes again within 10yards of my stand. Still, no does within shooting distance. Sunday was a pretty cool hunt in the snow, but the snow kept the deer in the timber togeter in a heard not moving much.
Yesterday was one of the coldest days I've ever hunted with a bow. The fresh snow made it easy to track their movement and see them coming, but the wind & temp. made almost impossible to bow hunt.
Right at sunset, this guy caught my eye. At first I thought it was a doe, so I got my bow ready. But then reason hit and I asked myself what a doe would be doing traveling by herself this time of year. When he got close enough, I noticed it was a shed buck. Probably a 1 1/2 year old. That being said, I put my bow down and got out the camera. He got a free pass and I'm still stuck with my two tags... Hopefully it's a little warmer next weekend.

Great pic and a better point! Thanks for sharing. I harvested a shed buck last year and felt horrible about it. I had likely passed on him multiple times in Oct/Nov.

At least you were paying attention. A lot of people would shoot and then look
