Top 5 days for 2013 archery season!

Its a slow Saturday for me so I tallied up all the entries from the "What day produced the most bucks this season." thread. There were 78 post entered.

The top five days were:
11/9 with 9
11/10 with 7
11/3 with 7
11/16 with 6
11/8 with 6

All but November 8 were on the weekend and the 8th was a Friday!

thank you for doing this! it was a great thread. i love when there is real data on a subject. is anyone surprised by these dates? i am certainly not. thanks again.
 
I'm not really surprised.. I'd bet there is a much higher percentage of hunters in the woods on those days also, which would probably affect harvest numbers too.
 
Good stats. All season I heard things are behind this year but this says other wise. To me this says alot about the 8th in particular. In my mind I seen the most activity on the 11th
 
I too think this could be swayed by "weekend warriors" but I will say it seems very close as I had my greatest activity Nov 11th (Monday) and other great action around that date.
 
It is most definitley swayed by more hunting on the weekend, but it still paints the same overall picture. The most mature buck movement was from about the 3rd through 16th with the "peak" roughly the 7th - 11th. If you go back through old posts and read the pre season threads every year of people asking what everyone thinks will be the best days it always revolves around this same time frame. With that said, no two ruts are exactly the same. Weather, local deer herd variations, moon phase & cloud cover (at least impacting night time movement), etc all have some impact. But you still come back to the first couple weeks of November being the best odds at seeing mature deer in daylight hours.

Nov 9th has always been the #1 day of choice for me. Not talking about kills, but just the most number of bucks on their feet.
 
I always have my best sits around the 9th-12th so this is not surprising. Was the same this year for me too even though I didn't wrap my tag around any bone.
