Tree Stand Safety

[The Silence]

I just finished watching a "Deer and Deer Hunting" video and from previous surveys they had taken, 85% of hunters' accidents occurred while they were entering and exiting their stands. I'd like to know what you guys use as you go up and down your tree steps.Do you know what type of belts the guys that work on power lines use?

My dad gave me his old linemans belt for hanging stands. It worked awesome...can't believe I have never used one before.

That's exactly what I use to hang and remove stands. Can't beat the security you feel with that big leather belt around you and the tree!

unfortunately due to the hastle that involves I only wear anything while I am actually in the stand. When I get down a lot of times I give myself slack and move the harness down the tree and once I am firmly on the way down unhook it from the tree. Any good ideas would be welcome...
