??? Treehopper safety belt

Can the belt made by treehopper be used as a safety belt while hunting out of the stand or is only for hanging stands.
 
It is not as safe as the SOP harness but I have to admit to having worn it more than a few times this year. I bought it this summer when they became a sponsor on this site and used it hanging stands this summer. It is easier to deal with than the SOP but I have been tempted to cut the nylon rope off and use the climbing rope and prussik knot from the SOP harness, it seems a little quieter on the tree. I find that while I climb up and down the tree unprotected, I will use it in a bind where I am taking a blind step or two out of the stand before unhooking. I like it.
