Treestand lifeline/Climbing System??

Looking to hear some ideas on climbing systems that you all use...I need to add some to all my stands this fall to be on the safe side. I am looking at the Hunter Safety System get up unless it is a lot cheaper to make myself...thoughts?? :way:
 
I know some guys are making their own to save some coin. Do a search for prusik knots and that will help ya get started.
 
I use them on all my stands and feel much safer. As I get older I find myself taking more precautions and the attachment from ground to stand really makes you have no inhibitions. I slipped off a step once 5 ft off the ground, just catching myself and realized alot can go wrong before you get to the tree. It is a slick system.
 
Read Bowman's blog on this site. He gives instructions in his piece on hunting with kids. I think I am going to try picking up some rope at Lowes and give it a try. I bought the one from HSS and think making your own should be pretty easy.

I am going to go look at Menards, Lowe's, Home Depot etc after talking with my cousin. He told me to get 1/2 inch main line 600/6000 lb and 8 mm for the prussic knot. :way:
