Sorry, but another question on this. Has anyone ever planted this stuff? How well does it germinate and grow compared to plain ol Rye? I planted some fancy Rye last year and it did not come up good. Thanks,,,.
 
Know guys that planted it as a cover crop last year and it did alright I think the lack of rain was the limiting factor but the deer were still all over it. I am planting some this year so it will be a learning year for me also.
 
When is best time to plant the stuff? I figure first of Sept or later, but Sept is usually dry,. I have had rye wait until almost mid Oct to germ. On the other hand, if it grows tall you have to mow it several times before Oct. Unless of coarse you have lots a deer to eat it in check,,which I do not have,.
