trophy deer mounts

Just wondering how many trophy whitetail mounts members of this site have on there walls. Also how many years has each of you been chasing whitetails.

After chasing them for 20 yrs I sent my first one to the taxi last year. I guess after raising my standards and being patient finally paid off. That is the best advice I could give any of you younger guys and gals. It took me 20 years to figure it out.

I will post pics once I get it back.

Congrats,How about posting a picture when you get it back.

I've got 2 shoulder mounts on my family room wall down stairs. The biggest scored in the upper 150's and the other was in the upper 140's. (Both can be seen in my avatar)

I also have 5 european mounts in my garage that are all in the 140 range.

I've been at it for about 10 years now and I learn something new every year.

My goal is to always harvest a deer larger than the one from my prvious year.

I've got these 2, one in front grosses 181 one in rear around 176".

I've got this guy, 206", the 176 is in the back again.

I've also got this 201" fella.

I've got a decent rack at home yet, going to wait and see what happens this fall, if I don't find a dandy maybe he'll take a trip.

Kaare,

If I did my math correct that's an average of 191". I would put that up against anybody's mount average from below the border. That just ain't fair man.

I now have 5 on the wall, the biggest gross is just at 165", the 4 others are all in the 125-140" range. However another one won't go on the wall unless he exceeds my largest kill with that particular weapon.

Shot my first to Wall Hangers last year, one in Early M/L went 163 3/8". Only been Early M/L for 2 yrs. And my bow went 159 6/8. Hunting bow for 5 yrs. Takes a lot of self control to pass up the little guys. Im talking 120" even 140" deer. To wait for that nice one to walk by. Just remember any deer shot is a trophy. Just a mount makes your friends jealous. I put in over 100 hrs on stand this year to get those deer and previous years also. That is what puts you at higher odds then most people in my opinion, every chance you get, even if it is a couple hrs get into your stand or blind.

Kaare,
You make it tough to want to post pics after those bruisers...most bucks in comparison fall into the 'dink' category

My brother & I have been bowhunting for 11 years now and we will have a 'baker's dozen' when he picks up last year's buck in a month or so. Our mom says there are so many deer on the wall that they 'talk to her'
