Truax Cultipacker Question?

I have a 5 1/2 foot truax cultipacker seeder. I have a cool season box and a fluffy box and a small seed box. My question is if I could run a dry fertilizer through the cool season box while planting with the small seed box? I am sure it will work decent just wondering if you guys have tried anything like this. I am guessing I better wash it out though to keep it from rusting. Let me know what you guys think.

I have a Truax planter as well but would never run fertilizer through it just because of what it will do to your planter. I think the results would be good but it's not worth sacrificing your planter for it. I normally broadcast my fertilizer then wash it out VERY thoroughly and then take a spray bottle and spray EVERYTHING down with diesel fuel and it still is rusting.
I'd certainly stay away from it if I were you.

Fertilizer does a number on metal parts, but if you washed and oiled it when you were done I think it would be fine.
