Last year I saw a button buck with the same type of tumor. I have read articles about them and they were usually harmless and the meat would still be good to eat.
I have a pic of a 3 1/2 year old 12 pointer with a huge tumor in the same spot as the first doe pictured. Looks healthy otherwise. I don't think I'd eat him though. Wonder if you could get a salvage tag for putting a puss filled deer down?
