Any issues accidentally catching bass with jugging ,using gills,or meat chunks?

Never caught a bass using meat or gills. Had them set in ponds with bass, and never had one get caught.

You can take turtles only by hand, turtle hook, turtle trap or hook-and-line.

Hoop nets are by far the easiest way to catch them. I use fresh carp and a piece of liver. Place while still frozen bait as the water warms and sours it fast. If it was close I would help you out.

If any of these ponds are within an hour of Ankeny or decorah, my dad and I will come and catch as many as you want out. Love sitting with the old man, drinking a few beers, catching turtles.

My dad used the liver too. If I remember right he'd lay it out in the sun for a couple hrs to get that nice rotting smell.

I usually tend to catch a couple bass off cut gils. Actually this weekend I caught 2 nice bass while catfish a pond on cut gills. I don't really think you can avoid it.
