I'm looking for a new base layer this year and was wondering if anyone has used this. I have heard a lot of hype about it but I don't want to buy something just because of the hype I ussually use a regular old set of poly long johns but this stuff sounds pretty good. any opinions?

You may need to have big muscles to be able to wear the stuff.....based on the advertisement in the magazines.

i don't remember seeing in the reg book that only bodybuilders could deer hunt, do you?

Have not tried it but would recommend checking into a base layer of x-static the silver thread fabric. Not too expensive and should last really well. To me the Under Armor is too expensive to try.

I have both and I will say it is hard to beat the Under Armour as a base layer for comfort when your out in it. The stuff I have with the X-Static silver fabric is a good base layer and is suppose to offer that extra sent controll.

I would agree, I have the cold wear and the heat wear. The cold wear is amazing in the winter, and the heat in the summer and spring. Great for turkey hunting in the blind. Both are black.

I agree, it is hard to beat, I usually don't wear anything long underwear wise on the bottom, but the cold wear is great in the winter, and if you catch it at the right time you can get it for a decent price.

I received an underarmour shirt last december as a gift. It's kind of hard to get used to as it is definetly form fitting. I'll have to say though that it allowed me to hunt longer while in the stand and during shotgun, where I cover some serious acerage and sweat like a pig, is where I really see the benefits. It truely keeps me warmer where as without it, once I would stop to sit, being all wet, I would freeze!

I would agree that it is pretty pricey but I have limited time to be in the woods and have to make the most of that time. It allows me to stay in the field a lot longer, therefore, worth the price to me!!

You can get a knock off brand that looks pretty much the same as the heat gear for 1/3 of the price at Wal Mart. It added 25 pounds to my bench press.

Shredder, might have his hands full. If any of you are Dallas Cowboy fans from the late 70's you should recognize the guy in the ads. He was an all-pro d-lineman for years. A real bad arse!Randy White, I believe.

Yeah but Shredder would cheat. He'd jab the guy in the butt with about 50cc of elephant tranquilizer and just run around till it took effect.

I used mine last year for deer hunting and also turkey this spring. I really keeps yourbody warm. I also use it when I play football (most everybody has someone our team) It think that they are very nice to wear/have.

My brother just bought the camo long sleeve one and is wearing it right now bowhunting elk in Colorado. I'll have to get the skinny on it when he gets back. I wear Under Armour slider shorts when I work out. They "breath" unlike cotton, and don't have the "wet" feeling. That would be nice if you did break a sweat on the way in to the stand. Some of those days in October can be warm too.

Try it! This is the stuff I would recommend!

No that's not Randy White. If you look closely you can obviously see that it is my dad Moosehunter. (ha ha yeah right). But I have an Under Amour tee that I got out of Eastbay for football and I wear it while I hunt and I think it is great. I havn't tried anything of the competitors though.
