All right, I posted in another thread that I was going into this year with a clean slate, both of the target bucks from last year are gone and besides those two, the farm was very "young" in terms of bucks. After getting several camera pulls this summer and finding a few of these bucks I am starting to determine which ones I want to target.
Things I picked up on after this pull. Bucks are getting more nocturnal, less bachelor groups with bigger bucks, saw a few small trees rubbed up, obviously less activity at mineral sites, and quite a few of the bucks are almost shed out.
Bucks that I think are too young:
This is an obvious buck, but thought he had good potential and I know it doesn't show his body, but he clearly is young.
Got pictures of this split brow buck towards the end of July and he has grown quite I bit, I have pictures of him in my previous thread. These are from last week. Neat buck, but still looks to only be 3ish.
This guy was in a bachelor group with the buck above. He looks to be around 3 as well. He is recognizable because of his split on his g2.
This was the "Mystery" buck that I finally identified and then made another thread on. He hasn't grown an inch since late July, and honestly has made the thought of passing him easier. New photos also show that I don't think he is as big as I thought he was either. My guess is again 3. Photos are in order from late July to the last one being last week.
This buck I always got shots of in a flooded area and he still is the regular there. I always thought was "mature", but just didn't have much tine length, but after getting shots of him today I am convince now that he is young after getting better shots of him from the side. Let me know what you guys think! Again, not big, but if he is mature I would consider him. I am starting to think he is 3-4 range. Picture again are from early August to last one being a couple days ago.
These guys are the ones I consider "mature". This first one is a 10pt who I think was 4 or 5 last year. Big bodied, but the rack of a 3 year old this year he is a little bigger. Not a buck that will score much, but might be worth getting off the farm.
This one I am the most excited about and he has took his place at the top. He has to be 5+, you guys agree? Looks mature IMO. First, is his picture from late July and the last couple were about a week old.
