my opinion:
i have been apart of a city park hunt and know first hand how difficult it can be. i hunted for 14 straight days and killed one giant doe. i passed on alot of bucks, but i needed to kill a doe before i killed a buck. the doe came on day 10. i didnt get a shooter buck in front of me after that and my season ended in the park before i could shoot a buck.
so the actual city hunt thing
this is relatively new, and there are bucks that are just getting hunted and have never seen a hunter, thus not feeling the pressure of intense hunting.
say a hunter goes into this and kills a unpressured monster. was it fair?
i think so. city deer are still deer. while they are around humans on a regular basis and used to their existence, they still have a buffer zone of comfort that they live in. most city deer wont spook at youif you are walking down the sidewalk, but ifyou step off the grass into the woods and into their world they become a pressured deer. instincts take over and you still have to strategically place stands and control scent. deer have a nack for knowing when they are being hunted.
i think the hunt is different but the animal is the same. just my opinion though.
