Looking at different options for an electric spreader to be used on atv or side by side. Primarily use will be spreading fertilizer, clover and rye. Anyone have any feedback on the herd?

I don't but I have a Fimco, and it'll often stop spreading due to the weight of the fertilizer. Mine is an older unit though and maybe worn out.

The Herd looks like a solid unit. I notice it says low amp draw and that's important because it's my understanding utv/atv's charge a battery just enough for the machine itself. In my experience, I ran my Fimco and did 5a of clover last year, and when I turned my utv off, the battery was so far down I couldn't restart it and had to put a charger on the battery. I now use a separate battery to run the spreader and not off the utv. Just some things to think about in your search.

Got a fimco as well. Owned it maybe 5 seasons. It does the job but I would certainly like to upgrade to something nicer. Mine shuts off quite a bit and can make a mess when spreading fertilizer or seed.

I bought a Herd. Worked great. Wasn't cheap!

I have used a spin tech for years and hundreds of acres. Food plots, waterways, even lawn. I like that I can set it and run it with one toggle switch. I use gypsum or floor dry as carrier for small seeds like brassicas. Finally starting to wear thru on bottom of tank so I will need to replace soon. Buying another spin tech. Another thing I did was to put a “backstop” on atv/utv side of unit to keep seed or fertilizer off of me. I have heard others complain about these but I do like mine.
