velvet bucks

So I was out cruising the dirt roads this weekend and about had a heart attack. What did I see, but velvet buck that had grown about 140" of antler so far. He has grown past his g3's with G4s and a hint of g5 with other stickers coming in. My opinion is that he probably dropped early and has been eating like a pig. He was with a group of 5 or 6 other shed bucks, only one of which had some velvet stubs coming in.
Here are my questions though, does this indicate he's going to be a giant deer? or will his growth slow down significantly as other bucks continue to grow? will he shed the velvet earlier? Or will he continue to grow and just be one of those bucks that have really dense heavy horns when you pic up the sheds? What's your opinion?

I'm sure it was a buck. It's not a she. The antlers were still ballooning outwards. There was another buck in the group that had velvet stubs that looked like beer cans growing out of his head.

I've also seen a few velvet bucks. None with 140 inches but some sprouts for sure...

somthings wrong with his testees for sure cause thats very uncommon size wise this time of yr, could happen i guess,or he just never dropped in more ways than one. set a cam out, you may get him ( her) on film that could be a cool pic & topic.i have heard of does growing antlers , some hormonel thing that drop late, all messed up , not sure what would cause it, but worth researching.check with your local deer bioligist, they may be able to give you more insight.

I know a guy that killed a full velvet buck this year in the second shotgun season in late December.

He was missing one of his male jewels...

I talked to a guy from northeast iowa that had several pictures of bucks already growing velvet stubs at the end of febuary beginning of march. I think since they dropped so early up there this year that they are going to grow a little earlier this year. I dont think that they would be out to their g4's already maybe that one is just special. Maybe he is really smart and grows antlers during the off season and drops before season starts haha.
