Sorry, I have to vent... I have read a lot of posts on people trespassing and have had a couple of run-ins myself this year. It is very frustrating to say the least.
I have a small parcel of property that I hunt and am the only person who has permission to hunt it. The problem is that it is close to the city limits (south KC suburbs) and that the adjoining property has a lot of ATV useage. This is the property that produced the majority of the trail camera pictures that I have posted recently. There have been many high caliber bucks roaming the area and until recently had made this piece of property their home...
I purposefully did not hunt this piece of property at all the first 3 weeks of October. I wanted to let it sit and then hit it hard when the rut kicked in.
I have hunted it 5 times in the last 2 weeks and have not seen very many deer, only a few small bucks and a couple does...
It all started the first day I hunted it this year, it was about an hour before the end of shooting hours and I could hear a couple of ATV's on the adjoining property. One of them was a four stroke and was VERY loud... Next thing I know, they are on my property and going crazy, coming within about 40 yards of my stand. They went behind my stand in a ravine, stopped and shut their motors off. I immediately started yelling at them telling them that they were trespassing and that I was calling the sherrif. They immediately started their motors and started hauling ass out of there. I got down out of my stand and tried to catch them and unfortunately was unable. Needless to say, they ruined my evening hunt...
I was again out this past weekend and someone had knocked the fence down next to the gate. They had literally driven their vehicle through the fence knocking down several small trees in the process. There were pieces of their running board left hanging from the fence and tree.... I filed a police report and am hopeful that they will get caught. That very same morning I pulled a roll of film out of one of my trail cameras and got this picture. It is of another hunter who was helping himself to this property....
Notice that the SOB only has 2 arrows in his quiver and it looks like he does not believe in any sort of scent suppression.....
I have a feeling that this is not going to be a very good year for me.....
