Veterans day buck

Been a tuff year, very little buck activity like years past. I only had one buck that I got a few pics off all year that was mature. First pic is from mid-August, second from October, 3rd from the early morning on November 11th and the harvest pic from mid-morning on the 11th. I figured my only chance was to catch him between does since I never seen him hunting this year. The pic that morning was across the road towards a creek bottom. I wasn't sure if I should hunt a stand on that side, but I decided to stick to my original plan. Followed my gut feeling and it paid off. I didn't see any deer that morning and figured I sit for 4 hours. Around 10:24am I decided to get down, I was preparing to do just that but when I gave one more look I caught movement in the brush and here he come's, my target buck! He didn't follow the trail I thought and passed right behind me. Once he passed I had a small shooting lane and popped him at 7 yards! My widest buck to date.

Nice work! Gut feeling is usually the ticket if we don't talk ourselves out of it.
