Pretty slow from what I hear! I'm sure the lake bite would be better than the river bite. The Des Moines is as low and still as I've ever seen it. Last weekend I canoed for several hours below Saylorville and managed to get skunked there for the first time in my life.

Where do you plan on fishing?
 
I've had pretty good luck on the des moines so far, like dannyboy said its low but if you can find the whole and get the rite baid in front of them they cant resist. This time of year is gota be a fav. for me since walleyes go crazy, they feed and feed all day and nite.
 
plan on going to rathbun
had some good luck earlier but i didnt know what they were hittin on or even if yhey were bitin
 
Ya Rathbun can def be a hot spot this time of year, I was having real good luck in July throwing perch colored crankbaits. Good luck hope to see some pictures!!!!
