Is it just me or do owls respond to calls better than turkeys.
Quite a few times I've propped up the blind in the timber and had owls come in when I use the locator. One morning I provoked an all out battle with 5 of them fighting right above me. Sounded like a bunch of monkeys.

This guy was pretty content. He didn't move wether we turkey called or owl hooted at him. We walked right in and set up the blind. Then I noticed him sitting there because I was looking at how easily a guy could put a LW in the tree for deer. We went in the blind and he stayed there for a couple hours. He finally flew when we bailed out of the blind. It was pretty neat to watch. That pic is from my cam corder. It turned out pretty decent. It only has about a 1 meg a pixel capability so if I would have had the digital cam it probably would be sharper. Thought I would share anyway.

Looks like a juvenile Great Horned Owl that is just getting is adult feathers. Cool thing to see!
