Weapon of Choice???

OK, so the gun safe question got me to thinking.

If you could only have one weapon from your arsenal (for some reason) what would it be and why?

Currently in my home I have my new ROSS bow, my Browning Lite A-5, and an American Arms Phantom semi auto gas operated shotgun. It's a no brainer for me, I love that A-5 like there's no other.

Even when my guns were stored in my dad's Fort Knox safe, it was easily still the Browning A-5 that I would save, but there are two other guns with "family history" that would be hard to lose.

I'd chose my A-5 because it is literally an extension of my arm. I purchased this gun my Sophmore year in highschool from our families gun dealer. I had been saving for a bird gun, and Rick our dealer, found two. A real nice Winchester and this Browning A-5. I was able to take both guns afield and shot pheasants with them both, but that A-5 was a better fit. It's a versatile gun since I have a Hastings Slug barrel for it and it utilizes the invector choke tube system. Many pheasants, some quail, a turkey, several deer, and more clay-birds than you can throw a stick at have seen the wrong end of my A-5.

I think it will forever be my favorite gun, but for the past two years I've been in the market for a differnt slug gun because common sense is telling me to take a little more care of my A-5 since Browning let them go extinct...plus the iron sights don't fit my lost eye-sight as well anymore, but that's another story.

I would have to go with my Remington 870 express 12 gauge. It was my first gun and the gun I've hunted with the most. It is nothing special, it's as plain as they get. I simply love it because it's what I've known for most of my life.

Out of all the rifles and autos I would go with a 870 pump

Just rock solid

I really, really like my Savage ML10II, but I also like my Remington 870 and with a couple of barrels, it would be all the gun I'd need. I've looked at getting a cantilevered fully rifled barrel for it but it seems something else always takes precedence when I have the money.

My dad has had his A-5 since he was 16 and he bought me my first Browning when I was 12- a Gold Hunter 20 gauge. I'll always keep that gun, and it means a lot more coming from my dad.

The condition he has his A-5 in after all these years is remarkable. He has hunted with it all the way up until last year when he left a scratch in the stock and decided it was time to retire it... 30 years of hunting and 1 scratch. Not bad.

Slug gun 11-87 20 gauge, cantilever barrel, nikon 3-9x40 buckmaster with BDC reticle and Hornady SST slugs-Great off bench 150-200 yards. I have owned this gun for 2 years and havent missed yet-oh yea never shot at anything yet

Winchester model 1200, 20-gauge pump. It was a Christmas gift to me over 30 years ago, and the gun still looks and works great. I remember my mom putting it on layaway at the local Coast To Coast store. Every couple weeks, she would send me to the store to pay another 15-20 dollars on it. It is still one of my favorite gifts I've ever received.

Remington 11-87, given to me 13 years ago by my dad and I have literally ran cases and cases of shells through that baby and it has smacked just about every animal I can think of; turkeys, geese, ducks, pheasants, quail, even ran a slug down it and dropped a doe before I ever got a deer gun. That little girl fits me just right and I wouldn't trade it for the world.

My Remington 11-87 that was left to me by my uncle. I have put countless rounds downrange with out a problem and hunted deer, birds and tons of clays with it. It fits and shoots like a dream. I think of my uncle everytime I pick it up and how much i would have enjoyed hunting with him.

Remington 11-87 SP Deer. Cantilever, rifled barrel toped with 2x7 Leupold. Timney trigger (3.5 lbs) and black synthetic monte carlo stock. The trigger makes the gun.

Tough question, first gun Mossberg bolt action 410, second gun Mossberg 500 12 gauge, or my Omega 50 cal. ML or latest purchase Benelli Nova. But would chose the Benelli, it has more utility with the choke tubes, etc then the others.

I don't even want to think about giving any up, I love them all. I would have to keep the 870 because its the most versatile.

Knight Muzzle, only brand I've used since I shot my first doe when I was nine...

Capper I'd appreciate it if you didn't tell anyone in Burg about this.

Weapon of choice= my Rock River Arms .223 Assault rifle with a Burris 4.5-14 scope on it. MOA accuracy and dependable plus large magazine capacity.
I only hunt with a bow though but if forced to head into the mountains in a survival mode, the RRA .223 would fit the bill.
