Non hunting related- but I'm in Chicago for the weekend and yesterday we almost got hit by Francoeurs game winning home run and today I witnessed the Cubs get no hit. Positive note- I did get 3 balls- kept 1 gave 2
Away. Hopefully not going to the game tomorrow brings them luck

The good news is the cards won again:)

Nice! I heard about the no-no against the Cubs. We were at Target Field yesterday when our Twins spanked the Yankees. Unfortunately, we then had to listen to them pi$$ a 5 run lead away while we were driving home a little while ago. Perhaps the best thing about America's greatest game is that it never gives you very much time to celebrate or pout :D

NWBuck

P.S. The only time I've been to Wrigley my wife and I got to watch your Cubs blow a late game lead and give one away to the Brewers. We felt like we really got the essence of the team that night :D

Hopefully the Cubs will trade for Hamels. I listened to the bottom of the 9th on the radio on my way to CR to see a Kernals game.

How cool was it to see a no hitter? I get amped just watching/listening even if it is against the Cubs.

As a follow up, Hamels would be a great addition to the Cubs rotation but I think the cost would be too high. There are a few players that the Cubs could move, but I think any club would want too many prospects.

I've gotten a few balls at games and have always given them away. No Wrigley homers though so it was a no brainer. My goal in life is to be at a Cubs/Cards game in St. Louis, catch a Cards home run ball and throw it back.

It awesome to witness. By the 8th it was clear we weren't touching him so I actually was cheering for hammels. Was great to see- not everyday you can see a major league no no. Will post pics Monday - great trip so far!!

I also heard Cubs put Castro and Baez on the table for hammels- which I'm perfectly ok with. And NWbuck- target field is a sweet stadium. Go many times a year!

Me too. It is going to be a fun week for trade rumors.

I would not mind seeing Castro go but Baez , if we can keep him healthy will be the next Cub's second baseman moving Russell to shortstop.

Pass on Hamels, to many good prosepts to waste on him and just hold out till the end of the season for Price. He wants to be a Cub and play again for Joe. Just my two cents worth.

I'm glad I grew up a Royals fan, looking bright with the Cueto trade! Wrigley field is a place you have to go once though. I remember a guy was passed out in the urinal trough at the game I was at years back.... must be rough being a Cubs fan. ;) Lol

I thought Wrigley was okay. Got to see Sosa hit home runs in back to back days against the rockies when him and McGuire were having the home run race. I'm pretty biased though and prefer Target field and the Twins.

Haha I had a few of them type of fans around me as well- I was certainly letting the 312's and Old style flow- but not to that degree

Here are a few pics from the weekend- great trip regardless And these were taken with my cell phone- so not the greatest quality

Castro I'm okay with but not Baez quite yet. He was starting to show promise again at AAA before he went to the DL, so hopefully he will turn it around. He will probably hit for the same crappy average as Castro with more pop, but I would take his glove over Castro any day of the week. I don't think the FO wants to give up too many prospects for Hamels though

Torres is going to be our best middle infielder I believe - he is just so young- 2-3 years out yet. And I really hope they don't trade billy M. He is my favorite minor league player- I'm not 100% sure Addison R was the better of the 2 that came from Oakland in that trade

They definitely have some options in the middle infield but with Torres a few years out I would be hesitant to get rid of both Castro and Baez. I would be surprised if Theo makes a big deal and trades away some of our prospects that he is so proud of stocking, it all depends on if they want to get serious about contending for a deep playoff run this year or let the young guys we have now continue to develop and gain experience to be serious contenders next year. McKinney is definitely going to be a breath of fresh air, hopefully we can get some guys to start making consistent contact instead of our current all or nothing free swingers and cut down the K's
