Were you in the 4-5,000 to see Lovstuen buck?

Thanks to a lot of help from a lot of great people we survived the 2003 Zach Open House featuring 'the first public showing Lovstuen buck'. It is impossible to get a precise count but based upon the sign-in and number cards passed out we were pushing 5,000 people for the three day show!

Obviously I didn't get a chance to talk personally with everyone but I can tell you there are a lot of great people out there that appreciate nature, wildlife and big whitetail deer. I was also impressed with how patient most people were with waiting in lines and the necessary 'airport search' ensuring that no photos were taken. Thanks to all. If you were there I hope you had a great time.

I want to give a special thanks to my wife, Marcia. She always works hard but topped even herself on this one. Most nights preparing I was beat by 1 or 2 in the morning but she always out did me. What is that saying, 'Behind every old buck there is a better doe?' Anyway, if you thought it was a good event you can see where the credit goes.

I've spent a lot more time with the Lovstuens and others involved in the hunt and my initial judgement is only reconfirmed. These are good, honest, hard working people and they will do a great job of representing the hunting community with all that follows harvesting a world class buck.

NOW, THE 'iowawhitetail.com' HEAD COUNT. IF YOU WERE THERE, SIGN IN PLEASE!

sounds like you had a good turn out!

As always, great talking to you guys. Buckinrut, I was starting to feel a little caught up until you reminded me. Unfortunately no, I haven't worked on the design. I need a little 'tree time' to unwind. I hope no one is in a huge rush to get their remarque. My son is on break from ISU and we'll be hunting for a few days. It is time to let a few arrows fly, adjust the buck/doe ratio and support the HUSH program! vman, really sorry you couldn't make it. I know, the realities of making a living. I'll fill you in when I see you.
