Stopped by sunday morning. Great open house. Thanks to Larry and everyone that helped with the open house and to the Lovestuen's for sharing there Awesome buck.
I brought my wife for some x-mas ideas and oh yea to see the Lovstuen buck.
She was impressed with the antlers which I didn't know if it would phase her. She got a idea or ten for a gift under the tree also. Thanks Old Buck - great showing.
My wife thought we were just going to Des Moines to get her exercise bike on Sunday, but we made a little detour! She loved the art but failed to see what all the fuss was about as far as the buck goes. Women.
Dad and i were there about 3:30 Saturday afternoon. Great open house!! The buck and your painting are truely impressive and the stories behind them and inspiration are even better!!
Thanks Old Buck and Young Doe!!
Hey IAARCHER......have you gotten the courage to shoot dad's .338 Browning BAR yet?....or is it still sitting in the same place waiting for its time of actions on the rabbits?
Fishbonker, A remarque is an original pencil drawing normally done in the white margin of the print below the image. Since November Frost (1989) I've been doing double remarques with a drawing on each side of the title. A pain for the artist but I think it balances much better when it is framed. Only a small portion of an edition normally have remarques. They tend to drive me nuts because it is basically the same drawings over and over. I actually did some of the November Frost remarques high in a red oak white bowhunting. If there have been any questions that should pretty well put to rest any doubts about my sanity or lack there of.
Slim, Great talking to you and your crew. Sounds like a great project and I'm looking forward to working with you!
99 P&Y 151, I think it will be at the SHOT show which doesn't help most people. I'd be surprised if it isn't at the Iowa Deer Classic in March.
Thanks for all the compliments guys. They help make all that work worth while.
Just spent a couple days in a tree. Things have slowed down quite a bit. Everything I saw including a 6 1/2 were on feeding patterns. Movement was really slow today.
scout made it, but it cost me dearly! In the bumbfounded haze the event left me in I left my beloved iowawhitetail.com hat in the booth at chili's! The two scooners could also be to blame.
I should have ordered a spare with the PMA membership
I visited on Sunday with my wife and kids. What a buck!!!It was great finally getting to meet you OldBuck. You did a great job with the open house. Hope to get some of your work at a later date. See you in the trees.
I was there with Scout on Firday & he still hasn't figured out I took his hat! Just kidding Scout; I didn't know you left it there. I bet if we would have gone back for a second look at the buck you would have remembered. Maybe Old Buck or someone can check their lost & found for you???? Maggs
Oh yeah. Great buck and fantastic artwork!
Maggs,
Glad you could make it! Try emailing Young Doe at marcia@zachwildlifeart.com with a description of the hat. We'd be happy to help get it back to the owner if we have it.
Sorry I missed it. Was back East in Baltimore visiting family. My mom is ill with cancer and have spent the past November visiting and caring for her. Bow season was cut short but what little time I spent in the timber sure released alot of stress. Plan to make it to your gallary sometime soon and spend some money! Ha! Oh well there is always next year or maybe with a little patience and time in the woods you never know what could happen. Harvesting is secondary to everything that the sport provides a hunter. Happy Holidays to you and your family.
Good to hear from you but I'm really sorry to hear about your mom. That is a tough one. I'm sure I speak for many on this sight when I say our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. Kind of helps keep it all in perspective.
