Last night i was enjoying some late night fishing on Lake Horton over here in Nauvoo. I got a call from my little brother around 1 a.m. Hes 17.
He was staying at my grandparents house in Macomb, Illinois while they were in Georgia visiting some family. About 12:30 a.m. hes laying in bed. All the lights off. He heard someone in the Dining room. He knew something wasnt right so he grabbed my other little brothers,"Who is heading home from watching Iowa whoop up on South Carolina" 9mm handgun".
He walked out to the dining room and sees two people. He told them to get the hell out of the house. They told him to get on the ground. He told them again to get out. They started walking towards him. "They couldnt see he had a gun because it was dark". He pointed towards one of them and shot. Blew a hole through the cordless home phone and into the counter. Both the guys took off. He called the cops and they came and searched the area around the house and the woods behind it. 10 minutes later they got a call from a guy who said 2 guys were in his garage. They never did find the guys. My brother said he could tell they were african american because of their voice and when he shot the gun fire made a little light and somehow he caught a glimpse of one of the guys. Come to find out theres been 2 black males going around macomb breaking into houses during the day. What kinda idiots would do something like that? Get a freakin job. Sorry for the ramble. Just proud of my little brother for doing the right thing. He said he didnt want to shoot them because he wasnt sure if he was suppose to have the gun. The cops told him he could keep it with him the next few days. My grandparents are scared to death. My grandmother runs a hair salon and tanning in the home. Just a bad deal around. Luckily he wasnt hurt and nothing was stolen. Hes really regretting not shooting one of them. Would of been a blood trail to follow.
