What day would you take off?

That's a toss up. I've always seen really good movement when it starts getting closer to Thanksgiving, so the 20th might be good. But the 13th might be just as good if not better. Hard to say. You know exactly what will happen though. You will pick your day, sit all day, and won't see a thing. Then you will check your cameras and see that the other day the woods were a madhouse.

Good luck. I hope which ever day you pick you have a good hunt.

20th IMO

I was planning on taking this week off on vacation, but opted to wait based on previous seasons. I always feel like I have my best encounters towards the end of my vacation, and I'm left wishing I would've gone later. You might not even have to take vacation if you get in the timber Saturday morning after these storms and high winds! Good Luck.

Whichever one has the better wind for the stand you want to hunt. Movement has been good for me the last week!

Lock down is coming soon. Those bucks will be lock down like Blaster with a cast on!:D

I like late November. I've had some if my best encounters from about the 20th through the end of the month. You may not see the quantity of bucks chasing but the ones who are still chasing are generally the only ones you care about. I have the 19th and 20th off and plan to sit all day both days.

I'd say 20th...by that time the bucks that are locked down right now should be looking for the few remaining estrous does

In my younger years when all I had was thanksgiving break home from college to hunt I saw a lot of big bucks on there feet . Food for thought .

For what it's worth, Winke says lull usually from around 13th-20th with largest number of does in estrous so bucks are "locked down", and then, as stated above, young bucks tire out and mature bucks will still be on the hunt for last few does. Have heard Thanksgiving week is usually pretty good. I'd probably go 20th, but also depends on your set up and whether you know a buck is in the area now. I usually take vacation in late October and early November, so my hunting experience around 13th or 20th has basically just been on whatever days the weekends fall on.

The 13th wouldn't be your best choice imo.. Just look at the weather for tomorrow. Who knows what the 20th will bring, but Im sure the wind will most likely not be blowing 20-30 lol

Several deer out in cut corn and beans on the way to work this morning. Saw a lonely buck crossing a cut bean field. Looked to be a 1.5 yr old, maybe a small 2.5 yr old.

Ended up taking yesterday off seen 4 shooters and several other bucks. The switch def flipped in my area it was rocking!
