What do you take?

I was just going through my checklist of things I'll be taking to the stand, making sure i have everything I need. So, I thought I would ask what you all take to the stand.

Things I take I time I go hunting:

-The stand (Lone Wolf Alpha Hang-On)
-Backpack (Badlands 2200) to carry the stand and gear
-Bow (Hoyts only..)
-Field dressing kit (knife, rubber dishwashing gloves, string, paper towels
-Binoculars
-Calls (grunt tube, and "The Can")
-E-Z Hanger
-Safety vest (Hunter Safety System)
-Lunch (for those all-day sits).
-Rattling antlers (when in season)

Basically the same as NebraskaWhitetail. I will add a couple things.

-GPS (New toy, nice for public land)
-Small grunt tube that fits in my mouth (For stopping deer while at full draw)
-Tag, License, Pen
-Cell Phone (In case of emergency, like "Help, this buck is too big to drag out on my own"

Critrgitr,

I'm a self-confessed packrat, just ask Trpr, he's seen what all I pack in when turkey or deer hunting, but I've got to ask, why the electrical tape?

Don't know about others on this site, but I'm guilty of looking at a lot of things and wondering what sort of deer hunting application they might have. The electrical tape has got me curious. Thanks!

A drink
extra charge for the smokepole

Stands are already hung. I don't mind walking a mile back to my truck to retreive a knife and saw etc. I feel like I'm jinxing myself if I carry in every thing I need to field dress one.

I am suprised nobody mentioned the Cough Muffler or the Deer view Mirror

Me too, I dont think I have ever killed a decent buck when I had a knife in my pocket!

I'll add folded paper towels in a sandwich bag to the list. And they arent just for wiping my hands.

Oh, you so funny. The tape is for just about anything that breaks or needs re-attached. Sounds goofy until you need it.

bottle of water

Critr,

Not sure what you shoot, but I DO shoot a Switchback. So, not dogging you at all about your bow of choice. I wondered if the tape was an "emergency" item...you must have been a Boy Scout!

Too much crap! he he he....

This year I'm adding a cameraman, 2 cameras, 2 camera arms, an extra stand, and all the other equipment required for filming hunts. This is so against my "keep it simple" philosophy, but if you want to share you're experience, it's the only way! Will be one heck of a learning experience filled with excitement, frustration, and too many other things that I'm sure I'll be going through this year. Should be interesting to say the least.

I'm glad somebody else mentioned a hand held video game. I normally have one of those also along with an MP3/FM radio for those extremely slow days. Low volume and only in one ear though. Can't miss that little twig snap or leaf shuffle.
