I saw this topic on another site (The Firing Line).
The gun I wish I still had is my Marlin 982VS. I pawned it to buy Christmas presents for some chic. (Idiot!)
Man that thing was a tack driver! I just found 2 partial boxes of ammo for it yesterday when I was digging through an old box of hunting stuff. Now I HAVE to get another one. Just to shoot up the ammo I found of course...

A converted Saiga 12, and a DPMS LR-308. Sold them both to fund a new house, both have easily double in price since.

My Marlin Golden 39A that I saved my paper route money for & bought mail oreder for $66.50. Sold it to justify (to my first wife) buying a slug gun. I sure wish I had that gun back!!!

A Remington 878 Automaster in 12 gauge and a Mossberg .243, both stolen out of my car parked at the parent's house.

The Marlin model 39A with a golden trigger.:way:
That was the first gun I ever "lusted" after when I was a kid. I remember seeing it advertised in the outdoor mags I used to collect. I finally got one a couple of years ago. Better late than never.

If you know where to find another, let me know. Replacing thatgun is still on my "bucket list". Just want one of the good ones not a new cheapo/repro...

My dad had 5 original Remington 700 model rifles stolen many years ago. A 7 mm mag, a 17, a 223, a 300 win mag, and a 220 swift. I wish I could get that swift back.

An antique side by side hammer shotgun that was stolen several years ago is one that comes to mind right now that I wish I had back, along with about 10 minutes alone with the perp that stole it!

Im too young for this thread.. the only gun ive gotten rid of was my first shotgun. Which was a POS Mossberg 9200.. traded it forn 870 supermag.. my dad has had all of his guns stolen twi e so it would be nice to have those i guess. One that ill be excited to have is my great grandpas old pump .22 short

I shot trap with my uncles model 37 1937 12 gauge Ithaca. He took it back. We r lookin all over to find me another one. I wish I had it back :(

HorseDoctor - I have a Golden 39-A Mountie that I might be willing to part with - If your interested, PM me and we can discuss.

My uncle told me at an early age that if you buy a gun and take care of it, it's just like having money in the bank. Even told me if I ever needed money and had to sell a gun he would buy it and I could buy it back at a later time. Well 20 years and 35 guns later I'm glad I've never had to sell one.

I still have it but it is broke. It is my benjamin air rifle .22cal. 1000s of rounds through it. Prolly 1000s of birds, woodchucks, coons, possums and lord knows what else died from it. I wonder if i can send it back repair.

Wish I never sold it but my Browning sweet 16...great condition but never used it. Although my uncle bought it, I still wish i had that gun...

I personally don't have any that I've gotten rid of that I wish I had back, but way back when I was 5 years old, our house burned to the ground the night we moved in. Among the firearms lost in that fire were my dad's Belgium Browning Sweet 16 and one of the pistols he carried in Vietnam (Ruger Redhawk .44Mag, I think).

On a related note, 2-3 years ago, I was able to reacquire the single shot .410 H&R Topper 152 that was my grandpa's. That was the first shotgun I hunted with. Shortly after my grandpa died, his wife (step-grandma?) asked my dad to give the shotgun back so she could give it to her next husband. My dad was heartbroken. That guy died a few years ago and my former step-grandma has Alzheimers so I made a couple of phone calls to my dad's sisters and got it back in the family. That ranks up there in the "happiest moments" category along with the day my dad gave me my Rem 1100 for Christmas!

Model 61 Winchester pump in .22. :( Sold it for $300 when I was starving to death. :D Worth about $1200 now.
