What time in the morning?

Sneeking in the backside, 6:30 should be early enough, 6:45 getting light. I have discovered that in the morning it is more your scent than light. Scent dipersal seems to be more of an issue than the deer seeing you, in the mornings with little wind my scent seems to hang around the base of my tree and trail a little longer so give it a little more time (just something to think about). Unless you are walking through or next to that alfalfa field 6:30 should be early enough.

Holy crap bukslayr, what the heck do you do for an hour? I usually get there about 6:30. By the time I get my bow hanger in the tree, and all my crap situated, I usually sit for about 15 minutes. Daylight is just trying to show itself in the east, can't really see to shoot until around 7 or so.

Dont forget about the time change. Last year I was pretty sure the sun was not coming up that day. That was a long cold morning.

What else would you do... Sleep!! LOL

I get up about 5:20am....talk to a man about a horse....shower and get dressed...drive the 8 miles to my stand...put on all my camo and gear.. walk to my stand and climb in... get my bow hanger up and all my gear situated and then I usually sit for about 45 minutes before the sun starts to peek in the east..

I like to be ready plenty early before light so things calm down before I can legally shoot..

I am almost always up in my tree with an hour to spare. Opening day I was so anxious that I left work 30 mins early (530 am)showered and was up in my tree by 0550. It was a foggy morning and I wasn't able to see until about 0710. So well over an hour that day.

I like to get in there when I can just barely see. I hate waiting for light. Most the areas I hunt are so thick I have found I have much better luck sneaking in quietly than barging in like the Red army in the darkness. It seems like I am usually so far back in the timber I never see a deer before 8am - 9am.
