Whats the chance of getting drawn for Zone 5 with one preference point?

not sure but it is better than no point at all. If you are wanting to hunt up here and have a group of friends wanting to come with, it would be better for you to apply alone than with a group of guys....unless you ALL have one or more points...better odds of getting drawn. Good Luck
 
Thanks for the info, I will be applying alone and wasn't sure if anyone knew if it was and every other year draw with preference points or every three year draw with two points.
 
Bassbuster, Last year there was 1089 unsuccessful applicants in that zone. Many will have two pts now and will recieve a tag before you. Then any tags after they get theirs will be drawn from the one preference pt pool. Also, 2500 pts were sold last year and can be thrown into the mix as well. One point may not have a chance this year and two points may not be a sure thing next year. the price increase on the tags may help you some. If guys are not willing to the pay $426.41 for the tag .
 
Where can I obtain information on how many points were purchased last year in the zone that I hunt? Is this public information?
 
Preference Points aren't zone specific. For example, you could apply for a tag in zone 6 for a couple years and not draw. Then apply in a different zone and the points will follow you.
