What's your favorite Hunting music???

Gary Allan, Gary Allan, and....Lil Jon

Whaaat!?! OOOOKKAAAAAYYY!!!

My dad used to call me a no good punk, and I still....don't know why.....

Here's another angle to this question:

Do you guys listen to certain music out of superstition? I listen to the same things every time due to past successes with whitetails/supertanker muskies after hearing a certain song(s).

Kat,

You would've loved the college I went to. My freshman year dorm was close to the Native American "cultural center" and they pounded on those damn drums til two in the morning most nights. Generally wasn't a problem as I was usually ripping into another case of Rocky Mountain refreshments, but once in a while I was actually trying to get some sleep. A year of that will cure the need to "get back to nature".

Great topic!

People love talking about their favorite music. Music has always been very important to me, I love it all. I was thinking the other day about how my styles of ‘hunting music’ have changed to go along with my different ‘stages’ of hunting evolvement through the years. Now I’m at a strange balance of instinct and spirituality, and my hunting music seems to reflect that. There may even be a few mornings this year where I’ll be driving in the dark listening to some didgeridoo/bullroarer/tribal drumming. That’ll get the hairs on your neck standing up...good preparation for when that booner walks out of the mist.

Happy listening everyone.

One thing I enjoy to wind down after setting in a stand watching mother nature go through her stages every night is getting out of the stand. Walking back to the truck and Manditory Metallica is on. A cold can of .... for the ride home and M.Metallica really sets me back. The only thing that tops it is missing it because of a connection to put a deer in the freezer.

Nothing like winding down to Sanitarium and a "root beer" for the 6 mile ride home.

What a mixed array of music buffs we have here! This thread took off, indeed! Ok here goes...

I am a Country Boy/Contemporary Christian/Gospel/Blue Grass kinda guy. I would say the song most played on my trip to the stand is Dixie Land Delight by none other than Alabama. I also listen to Petra, Casting Crowns, Ricky Skaggs (A LOT!), George Strait, Alan Jackson, Garth Brooks, Charlie Daniels Band, Brooks and Dunn (Red Dirt Raod), The Gaithers, my Promise Keepers music and even some Johnny Paycheck (Old Violin).

Keep 'em comin' my fellow hunters! I am lost by most of the groups that have been listed, but then again, I wasn't into Rock/Metal a whole lot when I was growing up. This reminds me...I gotta get my CD player fixed in my new Dodge Truck...it just started making some noise....I temporarily fixed it though by turning up the volume.

Joe

Release hunter I have to say that dixie land delight is my favorite song. Any song that has the lyrics Whitetail buck deer and Home grown country girl in the same song is #1 in my book.

That is what makes it my favorite all time hit...that song just rocks!

Whitetail buck deer,
Munchin on clover,
Redtail Hawk.....

Don't you remember
The fizz in a pepper
Peanuts in a bottle
At ten, two and four
A fried bologna sandwich
With mayo and tomato
Sittin' round the table
Don't happen much anymore

We got too complicated
It's all way over-rated
I like the old and out-dated
Way of life

Back when a hoe was a hoe
Coke was a coke
And crack's what you were doing
When you were cracking jokes
Back when a screw was a screw
The wind was all that blew
And when you said I'm down with that
Well it meant you had the flu
I miss back when
I miss back when
I miss back when

I love my records
Black, shiny vinyl
Clicks and pops
And white noise
Man they sounded fine
I had my favorite stations
The ones that played them all
Country, soul and rock-and-roll
What happened to those times?

I'm readin' Street Slang For Dummies
Cause they put pop in my country
I want more for my money
The way it was back then

Back when a hoe was a hoe
Coke was a coke
And crack's what you were doing
When you were cracking jokes
Back when a screw was a screw
The wind was all that blew
And when you said I'm down with that
Well it meant you had the flu
I miss back when
I miss back when
I miss back when

Give me a flat top for strumming
I want the whole world to be humming
Just keep it coming
The way it was back then

Back when a hoe was a hoe
Coke was a coke
And crack's what you were doing
When you were cracking jokes
Back when a screw was a screw
The wind was all that blew
And when you said I'm down with that
Well it meant you had the flu
I miss back when
I miss back when
I miss back when
