What's your goal?

i have a few, PAhunter,

first: to get my house done(befor the rut kicks in) so i can have time to hunt.

second: my first few weeks on stand i will do what i can to restrict myself to finding "BRUTUS JR.", a buck pushing 200 typical inches or a little better. him and his brother eluded my brother-in-law and i last year, but we never really devised an ambush plan, this year we feel we are more ready even though we have less sightings of him this year then last, but i feel that i have gotten his home range down.

third: after giving up on "BRUTUS JR." i will step it down to a buck with a spread as wide as it's ears and bigger then during muzzleloading and late bow it will be anything with bones on it's head will die. also fill all of my doe tags.

I am going to try and fill my doe tags asap so I can get a couple of deer under my belt with a bow. After that I will concentrate on a mature buck. (Hopefully)

I sat here and realized that I actually have quite a few goals to accomplish this bow season.

I have a friend from work that I hope to put on his first bowkill this season.

One of my brothers away at college also wants to hunt with me this year, the first time in a few years. Hope to put him in the right stand also.

Then comes my doe tags, hopefully I can fill all three as I did last year. Have some guys at work looking foreward to my donation to their freezer.

I also plan to make a couple day trips, maybe even camp, with my usual hunting partners.

Lastly, if the chance presents, would like to slip an arrow in an old gray buck. That one would just be icing on the cake though.

The best part, goals accomplished or not is just basking in the Iowa FALL.

Oops, I didn't put my goal for does - I would like to get three does this year.

My goal is not to buy 5 apple trees with fence around them. You see, some of my buddies and I have a bet , if you shoot a buck smaller than 145" then you have to buy 5 apple trees with fencing around them (so the deer won't tear them up) for your farm. This way it helps the farm and helps us keep honest. We'll see what happens this year!

My goal is to shoot the booner Maggs has been watching with the spotting scope, so he can see it up close

My goal is to shoot "Big Mo'", a huge 8 point (and no, that's not an oxymoron) that I missed last year

also to do my part, and shoot a couple of monster does

I've decided im gonna try for 3 bucks averaging out to 150 class gross, and 6-8 does, thats what im gonna shoot for, will it happen most likely not, but it will be fun trying

My goal is to shoot a hog with my bow and to try and get my dad a hog with his muzzleloader when he comes out to hunt with me this year. I will probably drop a few does for my friends at the HUSH program.

I plan on filling my two doe tags and then let the ones with the little bones on thier heads grow into to the bucks I would like to shoot in the years to come. Hopefully I can see some four year old bucks walk by my stand this year .

Well I was lucky enough to draw an out of state archery tag so I am hoping to get a py buck. But if season gets short a big doe will do just fine. Any deer with my bow is a true trophy to me!!

My goal for this hunting season is to spend as much time in the woods as possible. Just to get out into the outdoors and enjoy the wildlife and scenery and get back to the quiet time of Mother Nature.

When I was younger I was an avid bow hunter, if fact I didn’t even gun hunt for several years electing to hunt with a bow only. I have not seriously bow hunted for about ten years now due to my work schedule. However, my work schedule has changed and this will be the first time in a long time that I can again devote some quality time to bow hunting.

I have been practicing with my bow everyday for several months now and I am really getting pumped about bow hunting again.

I have some excellent private property to hunt again this year that I have muzzleloader hunted for the last 7 years. There are a number of mature bucks inhabiting these farms.

So in my mine, if I spend a good deal of time in the woods and have my stands properly placed I should get an excellent opportunity at harvesting a mature buck.

I don’t exactly have a goal for the antler size I want to harvest with a bow. I passed on one 135+ buck, and several 125-130 class bucks last year during the few days I was able to go bow hunting. I must say I did think often during February and March of passing on that 135 buck.

My goal for muzzleloader is now and has always been 150+. And yes I have eaten tag soup many times. I will be harvesting several does this season and donating the meat to the needy.

It doesn’t matter what your goal for this hunting season is, please keep your personal safety and the safety of others in mine. Hunt ethically and enjoy your time in the woods.

Scout, You can shoot one of them but you can't shoot them all!!!!!

What, did I forget to tell you about the others???

I'll let you see them after they're down. Maybe I'll call you to help drag.

Seriously, my goals for this year are to shoot as many does as I think my family (extended) can eat. Also I want to use all my time in the woods to re-charge my batteries so I can make it through another off season. Only Mother Nature and all her wonders can make a man new again. Maggs

I was wondering if you would ever find my wise crack!
The real beauty is for every deer you think is the biggest around another exists undetected.
I like getting off at midnight.

Well, this might be the last year for my brother, bro-in-law, and me to head out to western kansas and hunt (going to unit bow tags next year instead of statewide

). So, my goal is for us to have a great last trip and possibly one of us score on a pope and young or better. The next goal is when I get back home spend lots of time in the woods and get a good shot opportunity at a big doe and nice buck, if I wasn't fortunate enough to fill my buck tag out west. Just thinkin' about season puts me in the day-dream mood.
