What's your opinion on this.

There is nothing wrong with our DNR's programs and seasons for good deer herd management. It's our attitudes as hunters and poachers that are causing the disruptions in the plan.

We need to kill deer in this state and we need to think first of the good of the herd and not the points on our walls........

Do hunters in Iowa do drives during the anlerless only portion or do they still hunt or take a stand?

Just wondering. My thinking is that if they are driving deer there is less time to take a good look at a deer before the shot. With some education, (I know it can be tough to educate some folks), and eliminating drives (assuming they do) in the antlerless only season, it may help to reduce some of the shed buck kills.

Rack, alot of guys do drives, and alot of guys also sit in stands. I would bet it would be easy to accidentally shoot a shed buck during a deer drive. Especially a year or two and halfer. Shed bucks get shot every year, it sucks, but there is not much you can do about it. I still don't think they are hurting the buck population, the only ones that stick in mind are the ones that do get shot. A group could shoot 25 does and 1 shed buck, and all that sticks in your mind is that 1 shed buck and not the other 50-65 deer they took out of the herd for the next year
