When can we purchase deer tags?

Just curious if anyone knows when deer tags will be available to Iowa residents. I'm sure the county I live in will have very few anterless tags and I'd like to snatch one up!!! If i remember right it was the middle of August last year.

I called the wallace building last week and the told me it may not be until Sept. 1st. The regs are in printing and running behind because of alot of changes(extra seasons etc.) the tags wont be available until the book comes out. I was told to monitor the DNR page to find out when sales start.
