Years ago, the very 1st buck I shot w/ shotgun had already lost his antlers by late December, in northwest Iowa. I don't know how common it is but I thought it was strange.
I like to wait untill late Feb. or early Mar. before I start entering my good areas. That way I don't spook up any deer that have not yet shed there antlers. If you run them off of your property w/ antlers still on their head then they may shed them out side your hunting boundries. And if you are using, where you find the sheds as a puzzle to hunt this deer the following season then this will throw you off if he sheds his antlers out side of his "home core area". Does this make sence to you guy's?
