A Few Steps Ahead Of You
Since bowseason is right around the corner, less than a month for some......

i wanna hear when you get to hit it for the first time in '08?
and, if you are taking an early out of state trip, where to?

This year im making a return trip to ND to hunt with Nacho..... (Some days i wonder why....

...... /forum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/wink.gif ...... you better have the bacon ready!!!)

I leave Friday, September 26th and return Sunday, October 5th.

I will be missing Iowa's Opener for the very first time, but after my unfilled tag accompanied me home last year, we moved the trip back a couple weeks hoping for cooler weather.

When is day 1 for you?

I will probably be out on the first no matter what, but caoching my daughter in her last fall league softball tournament will keep me out of the woods until after the first weekend of the month again. No out of state trips for me this year, although I would like to as I was offered to hunt in MO and ILL, just not going to work out this year. Me and a buddy are going to try and make a long weekend trip to Southern Iowa though, to some public ground down by Keosaqua (sp) just to get out and see some different trees.

I'll be hitting it as hard as possible as soon as Oct 1 rolls around, especially since I'll be hard pressed for treestand time. I've said it once, twice, a billion times... I'll give the whole season up if the twins show up happy and healthy.

Good luck with nacho's "bacon" Thomas.

I'll be in WY looking for a whitetail or a mulie Sept 18th thru the end of the month and then back to IA for the opener.
I've got a couple ND tags too, so I'll be out there in late October and early December.
Can't wait...3 weeks!

I've got to guide my little "Trigger Puller" for the youth season in September, then its bow-in-hand time every chance I get! /forum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/cool.gif

Bacon????

After the way you smelled last year, you are going to eat salad for a week....

Our season opens on Friday, but I will be painting my house this weekend.

I am hoping to sneak away on Monday to get my last couple of stands and blinds up and get the land posted..

I am going to try to get out once or twice before Thongass gets up here to try and get him a deer this year.....

Even though I know he loves the taste of Tag Soup.....Especially marinated in Italian Dressing.....

I would love to get on the computer Sept 2 and see Saskguy holding a monster!!

Youth season with kids last weekend of Sept here.

My cousin and I have a bow elk hunt from the 12th-19th of Sept out in Washington State. Then we return to take the kids right into youth season. After that I will be in the woods as much as possible in October, I think the 5th is going to be the earliest I get to hop into the best seat of my life, all because of a family wedding. Can't wait to get my crack at a mature deer!

I won't make the bowhunting, but i'll be home for about the last week of November and first 8 days of December.... Which means... 1st Slug Season..WOOOHOOOO! Can't wait!

I start Saturday morning, in southwest Colorado. I leave tommorrow after work and wont be back untill Sept. 8th I hope we kill a couple good ones but who knows. The real work begins after the shot. I then go to Kansas on the 20 th to hang stands on a farm I have permission on. Then bounce back and forth between Iowa and Kansas untill I get the stick flickin done. The Camary is going to get some road time.

Youth season...September 20th for me. My 9 year old son's first deer hunt where he's the one pulling the trigger, and I hope to watch him smoke a fat 'ole doe with my muzzleloader. Been a long time since I've been this anxious for opener.

By tradition, I'll be in the tree on October 1st regardless of the weather.

Monday night Sept. 1st we'll be in the stands for bear. Deer opens sept 13 here. Hopefully put a couple baldies on the ground that night.

Ouch!!.... 10-1 for most of the IW clan. I'm glad I dont have to wait that long. 9-13 this year in MN. I'm ready to go /forum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/cool.gif

Hopefully going out the youth season with my son. Trying to find a nice little gun for a reasonable price. If that works out I'll be out whenever he's done or Oct. 1st maybe depending on work and me getting up in the morning.
No out of state hunts. Would like to kill a bear and a mosse some year probably after I win the lottery.

Im going to colorado for elk september 12th-20th with my dad, grandpa, and a friend of mine. I cant wait. Its going to be a blast!

Kansas the last weekend of September, Early muzzleloader Iowa, then Bow season, then shotgun, then Late muzzleloader.

I will be heading to Colorado for a Sept 13 Mule deer hunt with the primitive muzzle loader.......Colorado has some strict rules for the muzzle loaders
